Margibi County, Liberia-Sunday, October 5, 2025-The Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) has launched a two-day tax reporting training for talk show hosts and newspaper editors.

The workshop themed “Enhancing Tax Awareness & Public Engagement Through The Media,” is being held at the Farmington Hotel in Margibi County and has drawn over 30 participants.

In a press statement issued by the LRA Friday, October 3, 2025, the training covers key topics such as customs, domestic tax, and the LRA’s role in tax administration. The goal is to equip journalists with the knowledge and skills needed to accurately and professionally report on tax issues.

LRA Manager for Communications, Media & Public Affairs, Danicius Kaihenneh Sengbeh emphasized the importance of tax education and voluntary compliance; noting that well-informed journalists are better positioned to explain tax issues to the public.

Meanwhile, Press Union of Liberia’s Vice President, Beatrice T. Sieh, commended the LRA for the initiative and encouraged journalists to prioritize tax reporting while upholding ethical standards.

This training demonstrates the LRA’s commitment to promoting tax awareness and fostering a collaborative relationship with the media.

By providing journalists with the right knowledge and tools needed to report on tax issues, the LRA aims to promote transparency and accountability in tax administration.

The training is expected to enhance the quality of tax reporting and contribute to a more informed public discourse on tax-related issues.
