Monrovia, Liberia-Monday,October 13, 2025- The Director-General of the National Social Security and Welfare Corporation (NASSCORP), Dewitt vonBallmoos, has been elected Chairman of the Technical Commission on Contribution Collection and Compliance of the International Social Security Association (ISSA).

The election took place on October 3, 2025, during the ISSA World Social Security Forum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for a three-year term running from 2026 to 2028.

As Chairman, Mr. VonBallmoos will oversee global standards on social security financing, including collection efficiency, fraud prevention, compliance, and fund sustainability. He will also advise member institutions on innovative strategies to strengthen coverage and transparency.

Key responsibilities include coordinating exchanges between the Commission and other ISSA technical bodies, nominating Vice-Chairpersons, and leading preparations for the 20th ISSA Forum for Technical Commissions.

DG vonBallmoos’s election is a major milestone for Liberia’s social protection system, elevating NASSCORP’s international visibility and providing an opportunity to bring African and post-conflict perspectives into global policy discussions on social security reform. His tenure will run through 2028.
