Gbalatua, Bong County II Friday, October 24,2025 II As climate Change remains a major challenge across the globe, a non-governmental organization in Bong County Youth Action Lead Liberia has ended a one day meeting with several students in Bong County.
The meeting which was held on October 20, 2025 with students in Gbarlatuah, the M&E Officer Charles Karbedeh Jr and the Climate Ambassador Hub Coordinator Edna Jacobs, indicated that the One day meeting was meant to brief students about their upcoming activities in their various schools and communities to be sponsored by Youth Action Lead Liberia (YALL).
At the end of the meeting, officials of Youth Action Lead Liberia told Rural Reporter News Network on the main campus of Williams Richard Tolbert Senior High in Gbalatua, that their institution is working with five high schools in Bong County, whose students were trained by YALL to serve as Climate Justice Hub Ambassadors in their respective schools and communities.
They recounted that last academic year; the YALL was trained over 100 Students from the government-owned and operated NV Massaquoi Senior High School in Gbarnga and Williams Richard Tolbert Senior High School in Gbalatua, among others.
The one day meeting was staged by the Youth Action Lead Liberia to gather feedback from the students as they resume new academic year and review the progress students made during the past academic year, relative to their activities as Climate Change and Climate Justice Ambassadors on their respective campuses.
Mr. Karbedeh and Miss. Jacobs lauded the students and administrations of the five schools for the level of work done in the past then assured the students that YALL is fully principally committed to continue working with them this new academic calendar year 2025/2026.
The issues of Climate change is a global threat to everyone, which Youth Action Lead Liberia has joined other organizations across the world with support from Fund for Global Human Rights to create awareness on climate change and climate justice.
Also speaking at the 1-day meeting, two student leaders from the Climate Justice Hub Ambassadors appreciated the organization for affording them the opportunity to join other students to serve as ambassadors in their various schools and community in order to educate their colleagues on campus and community dwellers in dealing with climate change and climate Justice.
Students Jonah Kollie and Evelyn M. Kerkulah however promised Youth Action Lead Liberia on behalf of their colleagues that as Ambassadors, they will continue creating awareness on climate Change and Climate Justice in order to safe their respective schools and communities.
