Man Found Unconscious in Gissaken Dies Following Reported Drug Use — Five Arrested in Connection

Grand Kru County – Thursday,October 30, 2025-A man identified as Nathaniel Senyon was discovered lying unconscious in Gissaken, Grand Kru County, and was later pronounced dead at the Buah Geeken Health Center, according to police reports.

Predicated upon the initial information, a team of investigators from the Liberia National Police (LNP), Grand Kru County Detachment led by R-GK and AO-GK, responded to the scene and launched a full-scale investigation.

During the preliminary probe, five suspects were arrested in connection with the incident.

Those taken into custody have been identified as Mathew Doe, 32; Junior Weah, 26; Abraham Senyon, 22; Decontee Senyon, 25; and Rose Toe, 47 — all Liberians of Grebo ethnicity and residents of the same community.

According to the Criminal Services Division (CSD) of the LNP, the suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and subsequently interrogated.

During questioning, suspect Mathew Doe revealed that on October 28, 2025, at approximately 7:00 p.m., the deceased, Nathaniel Senyon, had met with him and provided L$1,000.

He explained that they both proceeded to Buah Geeken to purchase four wraps of a substance known locally as “Kush” and a mixture called “Spark and Die” from an individual identified as Candy Jar, who allegedly sells narcotic substances on behalf of suspect Rose Toe.

LNP investigation details that after purchasing the drugs, the two men reportedly went back to Gissaken, where they were joined by Junior Weah, Abraham Senyon, and Decontee Senyon to consume the purchased substances.

While smoking, the deceased reportedly complained of feeling weak, prompting the group to buy him a can of 3X Energy drink, which he drank before continuing to smoke.

The report furthered that moments later, Nathaniel reportedly became weak again, which prompted the group to take him home, but his condition worsened, leading them to rush him to the Buah Geeken Health Center, where medical staff pronounced him dead on arrival.

However, when questioned about her alleged involvement, suspect Rose Toe admitted to being a drug dealer long ago but denied selling any drugs to the deceased or his companions on the day in question.

The other suspects maintained that they had only gathered to smoke with their friend and had no intention of harming him.

LNP investigators in the County, uncovered evidence suggesting that Rose Toe is a known drug trafficker and dealer operating within Grand Kru County, with previous reports linking her to the local narcotics trade.

All the five suspects remain in police custody pending further investigation. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased was observed at the Buah Geeken Clinic mortuary, where family members — through his uncle, Ephraim B. Sayon — requested its release for burial.

Authorities have not yet disclosed whether toxicology tests will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death, though investigators suspect drug overdose or poisoning may have been factors.

The LNP has reiterated its commitment to intensifying the fight against drug abuse and trafficking in Grand Kru County and across Liberia, warning that those found culpable will face the full weight of the law.
