Monrovia, Liberia, Sunday, November 9, 2025 – Golden Veroleum Liberia (GVL) has issued a statement in response to a public letter sent by Friends of the Earth to the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). The letter called on RSPO to reverse its decision to lift a stop-work order on GVL.

GVL has reiterated its commitment to addressing obligations and complying with RSPO’s Complaints Panel guidance.

The company has continued to implement its Sustainability Action Plan, developed in response to the RSPO complaint, and publishes regular progress updates on its website.

GVL’s plan includes strengthening operational procedures to ensure compliance with RSPO Principles and Criteria, continuing to work with an independent facilitator to resolve remaining grievances among community members, signing revised memorandum of understanding with communities as well implementing a High Conservation Value (HCV) and High Carbon Stock (HCS) compensation program.

GVL has assured that it will continue to report progress on these activities on its website and to relevant stakeholders.

The company remains committed to the HCSA approach and to resolving grievances in a fair and transparent manner.
