“The Mass Drugs Administration Campaign is to distribute and administer River Blindness medicines, Schistosomiasis and Intestine Worms for both elders and children,” Mr. Anthony Salii, NTD focal person said during the overview of the campaign launch in Voinjama.

For his part, the County Health Officer Dr. Moses Ujoe Weidehga and Voinjama District Commissioner David Mawolo, both encouraged children and elders to take the drugs as they were the first to take the pills.

“To tell you that this drugs cannot kill, we are the first to take this River Blindness medicine in your presence, so encourage others to take medication; it is meant to kill people but rather to prevent them against river blindness,” CHO Dr. Weidehga and Commissioner Mawolo admonished those in attendance at the launch of the campaign in Voinjama City.
