Monrovia, Liberia -November 26, 2025- The Universal Access Fund (UAF) has made a significant stride in enhancing connectivity in rural Liberia with the installation of a new communications tower in Vahun, Lofa County.

This latest development update according to the Liberia Telecommunications Authority is expected to improve mobile coverage for the local community, fostering economic growth and social development.

Project Coordinator Lynch Momo announced that more towers are slated for RiverCess and Sinoe counties, as part of a broader plan to construct 15 additional towers nationwide.

The initiative aims to reduce Liberia’s digital divide, ensuring that rural areas have access to reliable and affordable communication services.

In a bid to revolutionize education, rural schools will receive Starlink satellite kits, providing high-speed internet and enabling smart classrooms for students.

This move is poised to enhance the quality of education, bridging the knowledge gap between urban and rural areas.

The UAF’s efforts demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind. By investing in telecommunications infrastructure, Liberia is poised to accelerate its socio-economic development, improve healthcare, and increase access to information.

Liberia’s Universal Access Program aims to bridge the digital divide by expanding internet access to rural areas. The program has installed Starlink in Vahun District, Lofa County, and plans to build 15 additional towers nationwide, improving mobile coverage and internet connectivity.

These initiatives are expected to have a significant impact on rural communities, enhancing access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities.
