    LNP Lofa Detachment Announces Reduction in Crime

    Voinjama City, Lofa County |Feb. 5, 2026|Lofa County Police Commander ACP Tarnue Kekula has announced a drop in crimes across the county the LNP detachment assigned in the county and under his command, has received 6 brand new motorcycles from national government in order to boost the force operational capacity as far as mobility is concerned.

    ACP Kekula further disclosed that disclosed that the crime rate in the ‘Food basket’ county has reduced from 90%to 30% across the county.

    According to the county police chief, the reduction in crime rate is as a result of the joint Security efforts with added support from the Community Watch forum but also including the general citizenry; who have demonstrated cooperation in timely information sharing as well as other kinds of support relative to exposing criminals in their localities.

    The county Police Commander disclosed that “Our community members are now cooperating with the Liberia National Police to combat criminals.”

    Prior to ACP Tarnue Kekula taking over as County Police Commander, criminals particularly in Voinjama city were on the rampage taking away street lights planted by the former regime of former President George Manneh Weah and there was no arrest, “but as we speak, we are chasing them out, in fact, for the past one year, you hardly hear about criminal activity because of the cooperation from the community” ACP Tarnue Kekula said during an interview.

    Meanwhile, he is calling on whistleblowers to feel free in engaging the police anytime without fear in providing intelligence about would be criminals and their hideouts. This will highly assist in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all.

    ACP Tarnue Kekula made the pronouncement when he received six motorcycles from national government through Inspector General of Police, Gregory Coleman to enhance their operation across Lofa County.

    ACP Tarnue Kerkula then appreciated the Government of Liberia and promised that the motorbikes will be used for the intended purpose in Lofa County.
