‎Bopolu City, Gbarpolu |Feb.20, 2026|The Ministry of Youth and Sports has delivered supplies to the Youth Literacy Program in Bopolu City, Gbarpolu County, benefiting over 70 youth.

‎‎The supplies, delivered on February 18, 2026, include 48 bags of rice, cooking utensils, ingredients, teaching materials, and copy books.

‎‎According to Gbarpolu County Youth and Sports Coordinator, Willie Taylor, the program aims to teach beneficiaries how to write, read, and calculate, and has been ongoing since early 2026.

The program is being implemented on the Bopolu Central High School campus in Bopolu City, under the direct supervision of the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the Youth and Sports Coordinator’s office, which is based at the Youth Center in Bopolu City.

The Youth Center itself was constructed using funds from the Gbarpolu County Social Development Fund..

‎‎Beneficiaries attend classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 PM -6:00 PM, and are provided with meals prepared by three cooks.

‎‎Taylor said the program is designed for youth who lack basic literacy skills, and upon completion, they will be enrolled in a skills training program.

‎‎Meanwhile, beneficiaries have expressed gratitude to the government and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the program, promising to remain focused.

‎‎Besides, the Youth and Sports Ministry is also implementing a cadet program, placing 15 university graduates, Students and health workers in government institutions for on-the-job training.

‎‎Taylor urged youth and the people of Gbarpolu to support the program by encouraging beneficiaries to remain focused.

‎‎The construction of a Youth Center in Gbarpolu is one of the reasons why the Ministry trusted the program in the county for the first time, according to Willie Taylor.
