Monrovia, Liberia | Feb. 24,2026 | A significant step towards strengthening humanitarian support for Liberia was recorded yesterday when Legacy Hands of Hope, a United States–based nonprofit organization, visited the country through the effort and connection of Numene T. H. Bartekwa, Senator of Grand Kru County.
Legacy Hands of Hope is widely recognized for its commitment to serving vulnerable populations through impactful programs in education and healthcare worldwide.
The organization operates across several countries, providing assistance aimed at improving living conditions and expanding access to essential social services.
According to sources close to the visit, the organization responded to Senator Bartekwa’s invitation to conduct an assessment intended to identify key areas where support can be extended to Grand Kru County and the University of Liberia.
Due to a tight schedule and ongoing engagements in multiple African countries, the visiting team was only able to make a brief stop at the University of Liberia campus during this trip.
While on campus, the delegation assessed the University Clinic and generously donated essential medical supplies to strengthen its operations and improve healthcare delivery for students and staff.
Speaking following the engagement, the organization assured Senator Bartekwa that upon their return to Liberia, they will extend their visit to Grand Kru County to directly evaluate local needs and implement meaningful interventions that will benefit residents.
In response, Senator Bartekwa expressed profound appreciation to Legacy Hands of Hope for honoring his invitation and demonstrating a willingness to support Liberia’s educational and healthcare sectors.
“I am deeply grateful to Legacy Hands of Hope for taking the time to visit Liberia despite their busy continental schedule,” Senator Bartekwa said. “Their assessment and immediate support to the University Clinic show their genuine commitment to improving lives. This is only the beginning of what I believe will become a lasting and impactful partnership for Grand Kru County and our country at large.”
The Senator further assured citizens of Grand Kru that he remains committed to pursuing meaningful partnerships that will bring sustainable development and tangible benefits to the people.
The visit is widely viewed as a promising foundation for a transformative collaboration aimed at strengthening healthcare and education services in Liberia.
