Ndambu Town, Kolahun District, Lofa County |March 3, 2026|A pastor of the Evangelical Church in Kolahun district has died in a fire incident which occurred while helping one of his members burn their farm.
The late Pastor Ndambu Evangelical Ndorbor Johnson died on February 28, 2026 in a town called NDAMBU, Kolahun district.
According to some citizens and authorities, Pastor Johnson was assisting with seasonal farm burning when the flames reportedly spread beyond control, trapping him.
A 15-man jury empaneled to investigate the incident ruled out foul play. Jury members concluded that the pastor attempted to escape the advancing fire but was unable to find a safe exit.
The loss has sent shockwaves through the church and the broader Gbandi Chiefdom community; where Pastor Johnson was widely known and respected for his spiritual leadership as well as service. Family members and congregants have been seen in deep mourning as tributes continue to pour in for this unfortunate turn of event.
Pastor Johnson leaves behind six children. His family is appealing to worthy personalities, well-wishers and members of the public for support during this difficult time.
The Liberia National Police has acknowledged the jury’s findings and is urging farmers to strictly observe safety measures during seasonal burning to prevent recurrence.
