Massabolahun Town, Lofa County |March 28, 2026| Massabolahun in Wanhassa Administrative district, Electoral district #2 is expected to benefit from the construction of a modern 20-bedroom health center and assortment of equipment thus boosting healthcare delivery services for the town and its surroundings.
The groundbreaking ceremony of the project took on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at the main administrative building in Massabolahun in the presence of the District Commissioner, town chiefs, women and youth leaders, and the general populace with the county’s leadership ably represented.
The construction of a modern twenty room Health center was initiated by a daughter from District #2 Madam, Janet Kamara.
Speaking at the ceremony, Madam Kamara emphasized the importance of strengthening healthcare infrastructure, noting that the new facility when completed will help reduce the burden of long-distance travel for medical care and improve overall public health outcomes in the district.
“Madam Janet Kamara is one of the daughters of Lofa County who believes in general development; infrastructure and human capacity building.”
She disclosed that she has been out of the county and particularly her home town for a very long time but having returned and seen the existing needs, she decided to work with her people in undertaking various projects including the health center project.
Community members welcomed the initiative with excitement, describing it as a timely intervention that will address longstanding healthcare challenges. Many expressed hope that the project will be completed on schedule and fully equipped to serve the growing population.
The construction of the health center marks a significant step toward development in Wanhassa Administrative District; signaling a renewed focus on community welfare and sustainable progress.
Massabolahun town in Wanhassa Administrative district, Electoral district #2 Lofa County is one of the populated towns in Lofa County with active business activities and investment, but since the creation of Wanhassa Administrative district, and its attendant electoral district #2, the district, now positioned between electoral district #2 and #3 has found it difficult to benefit from the previously existing administrative districts and electoral districts respectively.
According to the elders, citizens in the town and its environs started mining sand, making bricks to immediately start the project.
Citizens extended their thanks and appreciation to Madam Janet Kamara for the innovation to single Handley handle the project. They promised to fully coordinate and cooperate with the construction of a modern 20 room Health center in Massabolahun town.
Even though the estimated cost for the project was not pronounced, residents were happy and promised to interact with the contractors.
