Grand Kru County, Liberia |April 9, 2026| Grand Kru County Senator, Numeneh T.H. Bartekwa has toured community development projects across many communites in the county.

The first phase of the tour emphasized youth empowerment, education, and community infrastructure, which residents say are critical to the county’s growth and stability.

Residents from Sawken and Behwan welcomed the senator and express appreciation for what they described as “visible and meaningful development.”

In Behwan City, Senator Bartekwa inspected ongoing work at the Behwan Youth Center, a facility designed to provide young people with opportunities to engage and learn.

He also visited the Behwan Women’s Center, which, when completed, offers skills training and social empowerment.

The senator continued to Garraway Down Beach, where he reviewed another Youth Center project, reaffirming his commitment to creating safe and productive spaces for young people across the county.

During the tour, the Senator broke for the construction of a modern town hall in Trehnbo Town, Dougbo valued at approximately $68,000 USD.

Following community consultations, Senator Bartekwa also pledged to construct a modern Youth Center in Newanken, aimed at strengthening youth participation in local development.

At Sawken Elementary School, the senator inspected the ongoing construction of a six-classroom building, which residents and school authorities say will significantly improve learning conditions once completed.

Women and youth in Behwan City particularly praised the Women’s Center, describing it as a long-awaited intervention that promises to uplift women socially and economically.
