Bopolu City, Gbarpolu |April 10, 2026 | The 16th Judicial Circuit Court in Gbarpolu County has sentenced three individuals, including a Sierra Leonean national, to prison for drug trafficking.
The convicts are Hadid Corneh, Alfred Kamara, and Amadu P. Jalloh, all residents of Dorcus Town in Guo Nwolailai District in Gbarpolu Electoral District #2.
According to court documents, Hadid Corneh was arrested on September 15, 2025, with 124 pieces of tramadol valued at LRD. $37,200.
Alfred Kamara was arrested on September 5, 2025, with 56 wraps of Krush and 21 wraps of Marijuana valued at LRD. $11,800.
While Amadu P. Jalloh was arrested on September 15, 2025, with 13 scripts and 56 pieces of Tramadol valued at $55,800.
During investigation, the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges and begged for mercy according to court documents.
The court, citing Section 16.4 (a) (b) of the Criminal Procedure Law, acknowledged their pleas and convicted them based on their admissions and voluntary statements.
Subsequently, Presiding Judge T. Ciapha Carey sentenced Alfred Kamara and Amadu P. Jalloh to five years imprisonment each, while Hadid Corneh received a two-year sentence, effective March 24, 2026.
The state was represented by Cllr. Arthur M.S. Washington, Sr., County Attorney for Gbarpolu County, and the defendants were represented by Cllr. Edward B. Dahn, Public Defender for Gbarpolu County.
Meanwhile, the clerk of the court was ordered to prepare a commitment as per the ruling signed by Judge T. Ciapha Carey on March 24, 2026.
