    Breaking News: Drugs Intercepted at Tienii Checkpoint

    Tienii Checkpoint, Grand Cape Mount County |April 10, 2026 |On Thursday, April 09, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM, officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) assigned to the Tienii Check Point conducted a routine search operation, resulting in the arrest of two female suspects, Aminata Bah (33) and Isata B. Koroma (32), both Sierra Leonean nationals residing at 6th K Belliar Park, Freetown City.

    The suspects, identified as Fula by tribe, were jointly arrested and found in possession of 281 strips of Tapentadol Tramadol and one plastic containing Marijuana substances, weighing a total of 147.4 grams. The prohibited substances were concealed in their undergarments, specifically in their bras and bikinis, and were discovered during a thorough body search conducted by LDEA officers.

    The estimated street value of the seized substances is LD 711,500, equivalent to approximately USD 3,952.77. The LDEA investigation section has taken over the case and is currently conducting further probes in preparation for court proceedings.

    The operation underscores the agency’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and upholding national security. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
