Palaquelleh Town, Gbarpolu County |April 14, 2026 |The Gbarpolu County Council has inspected the ongoing construction of the Guo Nwolailai District Vocational School Building project, funded by the Gbarpolu County Social Development Fund.
The project, approved in the 2025 Gbarpolu County Development plan, aims to provide a modern vocational school for the young people of Guo Nwolailai District.
Council Member Mr. Mohammed Kolo Toure visited the project site on April 12, 2026, accompanied by District Commissioner Milton Gartee and the project Engineer, on the sidelines of the Guo Nwolailai District Youth Election.
During his visit, he learned that the major challenge facing the project is the transportation of building materials, attributed to the lack of roads in the district.
Despite the challenges, the contractor is committed to completing the project, which includes 11 classrooms, two bathrooms, and two offices.
The project is expected to serve as the first modern Vocational School for this Island district, with a population of over 17,000 people.
Meanwhile, the Gbarpolu County Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) County’s Coordinator used the visit to encourage the contractor to work diligently and the district leadership to monitor the project closely.
The vocational school is a priority project identified by citizens of Guo Nwolailai District during consultations with the local government.
