Paris, France | May 6, 2026 | The Government of Liberia is intensifying its drive to attract transformative international investment through a coordinated leadership effort led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, and Liberia’s Ambassador to France, His Excellency Teeko Tozay Yorlay.
This engagement reflects a deliberate alignment of diplomacy and youth-centered development strategy. Ambassador Yorlay—himself a former youth and student leader and former Assistant Minister for Youth Development—has leveraged his experience and networks to elevate Liberia’s youth empowerment agenda within international investment discussions.
Together with Minister Kruah, the leadership is actively positioning Liberia as a destination for responsible investments that directly benefit its youthful population.
These efforts build on the momentum of the October 2025 state visit of His Excellency Joseph Nyuma Boakai to France, during which Liberia and France formalized a general cooperation agreement through their respective foreign ministries.
That milestone continues to serve as a foundation for deepening economic and developmental partnerships.
With nearly 75 percent of Liberia’s population under the age of 35, both the Minister and the Ambassador are advancing a clear and unified message: investment in Liberia must translate into tangible opportunities for young people.
Their engagement strategy prioritizes sectors that generate employment, build skills, and foster entrepreneurship among youth—ensuring that economic growth is inclusive and sustainable.
On April 30, 2026, Minister Kruah held a high-level meeting at the Embassy of Liberia in France with a delegation from MEDEF International, led by Chief Executive Officer Philippe Gautier. The meeting, facilitated by Ambassador Yorlay, underscored Liberia’s readiness to partner with global investors committed to long-term impact.
During the discussions, Mr. Gautier announced that a MEDEF business delegation will visit Liberia on June 22, 2026. The mission will assess the country’s business climate, engage senior government officials, and connect with private sector leaders to identify viable investment opportunities.
This upcoming visit represents more than a routine business mission—it signals growing confidence in Liberia’s direction and leadership. Through the combined efforts of Minister Kruah and Ambassador Yorlay, Liberia is not only strengthening bilateral economic ties with France but also championing a model of investment that empowers its young population as drivers of national development.
As Liberia continues to open its doors to global partners, its leadership remains clear: sustainable investment must go hand in hand with youth empowerment, ensuring that the country’s greatest asset—its young people—remains at the center of its growth story.
These engagements are being held under the leadership of Her Excellency Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Liberia who has given clear direction to all heads of mission to robustly and aggressively advance Liberia’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development in ways that make Liberia an attractive destination for investment.
