Paynesville City, Monrovia |May 14, 2026|A baby who was earlier reported missing in Paynesville has now been found safe, bringing relief to family members and community residents.
Last week, 16-year-old Memeh Otis reported that her two-week-old baby went missing after she met an unknown woman at the Omega Community Clinic.
On Wednesday morning, May 13, 2026, Memeh and her mother brought the recovered baby to State Radio and shared details about how the child was found.
Speaking in an interview, Memeh explained that a tricycle rider, commonly known as a “Kehkeh” rider, discovered the baby after the alleged suspect reportedly abandoned the child on the back seat beside another passenger.

According to Memeh, the rider later carried the baby to a nearby police station in Paynesville, where authorities took custody of the child.
Memeh and her mother also revealed that they met the father of the suspected woman, identified as Henry Goffa, in Caldwell before receiving a call from police asking them to come identify a baby brought to the station.
The teenage mother said the matter is still under police investigation as authorities continue efforts to determine exactly what happened.
Family members expressed happiness and relief following the safe return of the child after days of fear and uncertainty.
Memeh and her mother thanked members of the public for the support, encouragement, and concern shown during the period the baby was missing.
Residents in the community have also welcomed the baby’s safe recovery and praised the actions of the Kehkeh rider and police officers who helped reunite the child with the family.
