Nemenwen Town, Gboe/Pole Administrative District, Grand Gedeh County |May 24, 2026| Residents of Nenmenwen Town in the Gboe/Pole Administrative District, Electoral District #3, Grand Gedeh County, are calling for urgent government and humanitarian support due to the lack of basic social services in the community.

According to community leaders, more than 500 residents have been forced to drink water from a nearby creek for many years after the town’s only hand pump broke down.

Speaking to reporters, Town Chief Othello Zahn Sr. described the situation as a serious public health concern affecting families and especially children in the community.

Chief Zahn said many residents are frequently becoming sick from water-related illnesses because there is no access to safe drinking water in the town.

He also explained that Nenmenwen Town lacks several important services, including a school, clinic, town hall, and good road access.

Residents say the poor road conditions make transportation and access to healthcare extremely difficult.

According to the town chief, repeated appeals to lawmakers, nongovernmental organizations, and humanitarian groups over the years have not produced results.

A so-called public structure in Nenmenwen Town,Grand Gedeh County. The is in Dire need of basic social services as well as public infrastructure.

“We are dying. Our children are not going to school, there is no safe drinking water, no clinic, and the roads are completely bad. How do they expect us to survive in this environment?” Chief Zahn said.

Community members say children are among the most affected because many are unable to attend school while others continue to face health risks from unsafe water sources.

The town chief made an urgent appeal to the government, NGOs, INGOs, and humanitarian organizations to quickly intervene and improve living conditions in the area.

“People hearing me, please come to our aid. We need a clinic, school, safe drinking water, and good roads,” he appealed.

Residents hope their concerns will attract immediate attention and lead to development projects that can improve life in Nenmenwen Town.
