    One Dead, Eight Injured in Road Accident at Murphy Town

    Murphy Town, Grand Cape Mount County |June 2, 2026 |One person has been confirmed dead and eight others are receiving medical treatment at the Sinje Comprehensive Health Center following a traffic accident that occurred on Monday, June 1, 2026.

    The accident reportedly happened near Murphy Town on the road leading toward Gbartojah Junction in Grand Cape Mount County.

    According to preliminary reports, the victims were workers traveling on an Afriklife Water truck when the vehicle struck a pothole along the roadway.

    Witnesses said the impact caused several workers riding on the truck to fall from the vehicle.

    One person reportedly died from injuries sustained during the incident.

    Eight other workers suffered injuries and were transported to the Sinje Comprehensive Health Center, where they are currently receiving treatment.

    Health authorities have not yet released details on the conditions of the injured victims.

    Residents have expressed concern about the condition of roads in the area, noting that large potholes continue to pose risks to motorists and passengers.

    Community members are also calling for increased road safety measures and caution when transporting workers and passengers on open vehicles.

    Local authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine the exact cause and whether additional safety measures are needed.

    The incident has left families, friends, and community members mourning the loss of one life while hoping for the full recovery of those receiving treatment.
