Monrovia, Liberia – Fiamah Community Elementary and Junior High School is grappling with a challenging learning environment, prompting the local organization Men with Excellent Nature to step in with a generous donation of assorted school supplies valued at over LRD $100,000. The heartwarming donation was made on Friday, October 25, 2024 at the school campus.

John Wilson Akoto, president of Men with Excellent Nature, expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting their roots, noting that several members of the group are alumni of the school.

“This donation is our way of giving back to the community that shaped us,” he stated.

The school, established in 1983 by Joseph R. Davis, has struggled with poor infrastructure that severely affects students’ learning conditions. During the dry season, the building heats up uncomfortably, creating an unbearable atmosphere for its 104 students.

Despite repeated appeals to local authorities for assistance, school officials report that help has not materialized. “Men with Excellent Nature is the only organization providing us with consistent support,” a representative from the school revealed. Last year, the group donated over fifty armchairs to alleviate some of the school’s burdens.

This latest contribution includes essential items such as toiletries, stationery, chalk, teacher lesson books, and other supplies that are expected to significantly enhance the educational experience for students during the 2024 academic year.

The school is located on 21st Street in Sinkor, Monrovia.

As Fiamah Community School continues to navigate its challenges, the support from Men with Excellent Nature underscores the vital role community organizations play in addressing educational needs.
