This landmark victory marks a significant step forward for female leadership at the institution, which has been in operation since 1983.

Oretha secured 88 votes, surpassing her opponent K Korbalah Gulumah of the Students Freedom Party (SFP), who received 69 votes. After her election, Oritha expressed her gratitude to her fellow students for placing their trust in her.
