    End of Year Letter: Gbowee Peace Foundation Highlights 2024 Successes and Earmarks 2025 Aspirations

    Acknowledges Receipt of Melinda French Gates Foundation $20 Million Grant

    Monrovia-December 23,2024-The Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa/USA  has extended its thanks and appreciation to all of its partners, donors and affiliates for their overwhelming commitment to the growth of  the Foundation.

    In its year end letter published on December 19,2024, the foundation said “We have continued to make a profound impact in empowering women and youth, fostering peace and transforming communities across Liberia and beyond.”

    According to the communication, the organization described the year 2024 as extraordinary year filled with progress, challenge and triumphs.

    The Foundation expressed deep gratitude the Melinda French Gates Foundation selecting its founder and Executive Director -Nobel Laureate Leymah Gbowee as the recipient of a remarkable $20 million grant.

    “This transformative funding will support charitable organizations and grassroots leaders driving innovative and essential initiatives to promote women’s health and well-being in the United States and around the world”, the letter remarked.

    Talking of specific interventions implemented this year, the Foundation added that due to its donor s and partners gracious support, the following were successfully executed: provided critical scholarships, strengthened women’s voices in peacebuilding, and granted over 100 Liberian students school supplies and uniforms.

    Looking ahead, the letter added that the Foundation was even more hopeful and determined with plan to expand her global outreach and by the same token, increase the visibility of the founder’s work. The organization said it would continue to “Provide even more critical scholarship opportunities to several more counties of students across Liberia and beyond; and continue our mission of peacebuilding through creating sustainable community development projects that address economic, educational and social needs.”

    The Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa USA then extended thanks and appreciation to her supporters for their generous support. “Whether you donated, volunteered or shared our message with others, you have played an essential role in advancing the work of the Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa USA,”the year-end communication intoned.

    The organization concluded by expressing heartfelt gratitude to her incredible team of staff and community partners who work tirelessly each day to bring her vision to life and at the same time calls on her fierce supporters to continue the journey by making a final donation and on high note, close out this year.
