    Grand Kru County Kickball Team Seals First Victory

    The women category of the National County Sport Meet (NCSM) of Grand Kru County has sealed its first victory over rival Grand Gedeh in the opening of the 2025 NCSM.

    The match was held at the Albert White Sports Stadium on Sunday, January 12, 2025, in which the Grand Kru kickball team emerged victorious with a close score of 1-0, a win described as crucial for the team.

    The match marked the opening of the 2025 National County Sports Meet, an event that brings together counties across the nation to compete in various sports, fostering camaraderie and spirited competition among Liberians.

    Following the victory over Grand Gedeh Kickball Team, the Grand Kru County Superintendent Antoinette Wowlee Nimely extended heartfelt congratulations to the girls’ team for their remarkable victory. The team’s achievement, Superintendent Namely said, reflects the strong twelve traditional communities of Grand Kru County and citizens support for sports in Grand Kru and highlights the importance of teamwork and dedication.

    Madam Nimely praised the players for their hard work, discipline, and commitment to excellence, stating that their win is not just a victory for the team but for the entire Grand Kru community.

    She expressed optimism for the upcoming matches, urging the team to carry this momentum forward as they compete against other counties in the tournament.

    The bustling atmosphere at the Albert White Sports Stadium was busy with excitement from officials of Grand Kru County as fans gathered to support their teams, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the county.

    The kickball match served not only as a competition but also as a celebration of unity, culture, and the incredible talent emerging from Grand Kru.

    Looking ahead, Superintendent Nimely encouraged the players to continue training and preparing for future matches, emphasizing that every game is an opportunity to showcase their skills and represent their county with pride.

    The success of the kickball team serves as an inspiration for young athletes in the region, promoting the values of perseverance, sportsmanship, and community involvement.

    Local supporters and fans celebrated the victory with enthusiasm, sharing their joy on social media and organizing events to cheer the team in their upcoming matches.

    However, as the tournament unfolds, all eyes will be on the Grand Kru County kickball team for more victories in the prestigious national football competition.
