    WHH Commissions Five New Health Facilities in Southeast Liberia…

    Montserrado County, Monrovia-January 24, 2025- Welthungerhilfe Liberia has officially commissioned five health facilities in southeast Liberia.

    The facilities concerned, include Bargblor PHC, Jaytoken PHC, Kwitatuzon PHC, and Rally Time Hospital.The ceremonial event was symbolically held at Rally Town Hospital, marking a pivotal moment for health services in the region.

    An official of WHH provides project-related information during the commissioning occasion.

    In apparent reference to the newly commissioned facilities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs in a statement said, are part of a broader initiative that includes the construction of eight health facilities, funded by the German Government through the German Development Bank.

    This project is executed in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Public Works, and the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.

    Making special remark at the ceremonial event Thursday, Deputy Internal Affairs Minister for Operations Selena P. Mappy expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the President of Liberia.

    Hon.Selena Mappy makes Special Remarks during the Commissioning ceremony of the 5 health facilities in Southeastern Liberia.

    Minister Mappy emphasized the crucial role of local communities in the successful maintenance of these facilities, underscoring the importance of community involvement in healthcare.

    The MIA Deputy Minister for Operations also noted that 9 health facilities in Buchanan are also helping to serve various communities across the southeastern counties, reaffirming the government’s commitment to ensuring that essential health services reach even the most remote areas of the country.

    This initiative not only enhances healthcare infrastructure but also signifies a collaborative effort between the government and international partners to improve the health and well-being of Liberians in underserved regions.

    Welthungerhilfe (WHH), is apolitically independent non-profit and non-governmental aid agency working in the fields of development cooperation and humanitarian assistance.
