    The Resident Judge of Sinoe County, Geplah T-ikloh Konton, has alarmed over the inadequacy of judicial workers in the county, which according to him, is hampering the full dispensation of justice in the county. Judge Konto noted that the issue of parties’ litigants is paramount to the dispensation of justice, adding, complainants and defendants often do not have representations.

    The Sinoe County’s Resident Judge spoke during the opening ceremony of the February term of court on the theme “adequate representation of parties’ litigants”. He stressed the need for more judicial workers, terming it as cardinal in fulfilling government AREST agenda with the aim to enhance justice in Liberia.

    Cllr. Geplah T-kloh Konton asserted that in order for citizens of Sinoe to feel the impact of justice, it will require adequate representation of court related issues including those finding themselves in judicial domain. “If people who go to court can get legal representation, it will help curtail the issues of injustice and improve judicial functions and line base jurisdiction and everyone will begin feeling, knowing and enjoying the impacts of the law”, said Judge Konton.

    The Judge added that though the country judicial system is challenged with inadequate representation, but Sinoe County with more magisterial courts has no public defender and city solicitor at various magisterial court.

    Cllr. Konton used the occasion to call on the Liberian leader, President Joseph Boakai, and the Chief Justice of the country to deploy more public defenders to ensure that justice is properly dispensed in every part of the country;

    Meanwhile, Sinoe County Attorney, Cllr. Daniel Dweh has disclosed that over ten cases ranging from murder, criminal conspiracy, theft of property, simple assault, among others, are on the docket for the February Term of court.

    Cllr. Dweh used the medium to thank the government for living up to its promises in making available four-door pickups for each county Attorneys across the country, but stressed the need for more supports to speed up law enforcement and the dispensation of justice.
