LCU Suspend 3 Key Administrators for Alleged Corruption following LACC’s Audit

Lofa County, Voinjama City- March 6, 2025-The Lofa County University suspended Three (3) Senior Administrators for time indefinite following an audit conducted by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC)

Those suspended are the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Morlu Korsor, Financial Comptroller Peter CP. Taylor II, and Human Resources Officer Beyan M. Kamara due to alleged acts of corruption.

According to the President of the University Dr. Isaac Podah, this decision comes as an ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC) about an alleged financial scandal within the institution ranging from past leadership to present.

According to credible sources, the three Senior Administrators at the University were allegedly accused by the Ministry of Finance of misappropriating approximately US$75,000 in public funds related to ghost employees.

Dr. Isaac Podah in an interview with Radio Wologizi in Voinjama on Wednesday March 5, 2025, stated that the suspensions will remain in force until the individuals can clear their names to uphold the institution’s integrity.

“Once they are exonerated from the corruption allegation, they will be reinstated and compensated for the duration of their suspension,” he added.

Efforts to reach the suspended officials for comments have been unsuccessful at the time of this publication.

Meanwhile, Dr. Isaac Podah has again reaffirms his commitment to uphold the institution’s policy and keep it corruption-free.

“Anyone who wants to be unfair and engage in financial as well as administrative malpractices must leave the Lofa University” he sharply intoned. Since he took over as President of the Lofa University, this is the Second time for Dr. Isaac Podah to suspend faculty staff at the Institution.

It can be recalled that during the first Three months of his leadership at the Lofa University, he suspended three staff at the University for Administrative Reasons. Those suspended at the time were Edwin Supee, a lecturer, Isaac Kpehe and the Dean of the Health Sciences Department Oral T. Siakor.
