Lofa County, Voinjama City-Monday 10, 2025-The physically challenged community in Voinjama District has received 15 specially designed wheel chairs from the office of Representative Gizzie K. Kollince of Electoral District #4.

Mr. Johnson Flomo -A physically challenged gentleman whose encounter with Rep. Kollince led to the donation being interviewed by reporters.

In a heartfelt gesture of support to the community in question, the lawmaker thought it prudent to donate fifteen specially designed wheelchairs to the physically challenged community in his district with the aim of easing the mobility difficulty that often characterizes the movement of individuals who find themselves in this category. The donation aims to enhance mobility and foster independence for individuals facing physical challenges.

The handover ceremony took place on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Radio Kintoma compound in Voinjama City. Mr. Kollie Z. Kiyan, representing Hon. Kollince, shared that the initiative was inspired by a recent visit to the Radio Kintoma Event Management Service Center. During the visit, Mr. Kiyan met Johnson Flomo, a local resident and member of the physically challenged community, who was in urgent need of mobility assistance.

The event was well-attended by members of the physically challenged community, along with representatives from Hon. Kollince’s local office, underscoring the importance of community solidarity and ongoing support for marginalized groups.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries, Johnson Flomo praised the first term legislator for his demonstration of compassion and swift action. He emphasized the significance of empowering individuals with disabilities and called on other lawmakers to extend their support to ensure people with disabilities have equal opportunities to thrive.

“Disabilities are not inabilities; all we need is the opportunity and resources to succeed,” Johnson remarked.

This donation not only meets an immediate need but also serves as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility to uplift and empower every member of the community, regardless of physical limitations.
