Grand Cape Mount County, Robertsport-Wednesday, March 12, 2025- Cape Mount was noted to be the cradle of education; but that was several decades ago.

A team member busy providing instruction to participants in one of their sessions.

That identity seems to be whipped away as recent realities point to serious fall in the County’s education system which range from inadequate teachers;1 teacher – 6 classrooms as obtaining at Todeman Public School, to  limited sitting capacity as being experienced by pupils of both Tahn  and Fahn Badah Public Schools respectively in 2023; where both schools had to clash over armchairs. Public Examinations results of Cape Mount had not always maintained appreciable results.

Rather, it has always been a mixed bag of outcomes with some academic years being good while others were terrible as far as the performance of the county’s pupils were concerned.

Students very busy taking note during tutorial session.

However, all hopes are not yet dashed as Cape Mountaineers who are seeking higher education in and out of the County under the banner ‘Cape Mount University Students Union / Association’ have unanimously agreed to step in to help school administrators adequately solidify Junior and Senior High Students ahead of this year’s National and Regional Examinations otherwise known as WASSCE.

Vamunyah M. Kromah, a prominent member has been appointed by CAMUSU’s head Lawrence Gray to lead the charge. Following his appointment, Vamunyah Kromah and team a couple of weeks back, launched the ‘FREE TUTORIAL PROGRAM’ at Robertsport City on Thursday, March 6, 2025 where several county stakeholders including Education Officers, FLY, etc., were in attendance. The process began thereafter with no further delay.

An other tutorial lecturer focus the blackboard as students busily take notes.

According to Coordinator Kromah, the tutorial program is opened to anyone who deems it necessary to give back to their County through this means. However, he was quick to emphasize that “the program is volunteer driven.  No one is receiving a dime from this process.”

Notwithstanding, Kromah called on all Cape Mountaineers to help the student community to smoothen the implement this worthwhile initiative. He said as they tour the County, they will need transportation, feeding and lodging. Hence, his appeal for all Cape Mountainians to support this cause by contributing the little they can afford in cash or kind. The tutorial began on Friday and Saturday of last week and is expected to continue this weekend.

Tutorial Assistant engages participants in discussion session.

In conclusion, Coordinator Kromah then shared his mobile contact with our reporter for easy reference for anyone wishing to get in touch with his team. Here is the number: 0770168282.
