    RHFI Hosts Successful Football Tournament to Combat Drug Abuse Among Youth…

    Monrovia, Liberia-Monday, April 21, 2025-In an effort to combat drug abuse among young people, Restoration HOPE Foundation International successfully concluded a day-long “Say No to Drugs” football tournament on Sunday, April 20, 2025 in the Old Road Community.

     This event aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of illegal substance use and promote healthier lifestyle choices among the youth.

    The tournament, organized in collaboration with the Liberia National Police and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, brought together teams from various local communities. Participants engaged in friendly competition while gaining valuable insights into the importance of staying drug-free.

    The event was a joint initiative with the Liberia National Police and the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency, emphasizing a united front against drug abuse in the country.

     “Young athletes participated, demonstrating their skills on the field and their commitment to promoting a drug-free lifestyle”.

    The winning team received awards, and all participants were recognized for their involvement, fostering a sense of community spirit and encouraging ongoing dialogue about drug prevention.

    The event, which took place on the Chugbor Field, Old Road outside Monrovia aims to raise awareness about the detrimental effects of drugs and other related substances among the youths in the area and beyond.

    Speaking at the start of the event, the Executive Director of the organization “We believe that sports can be a powerful tool for social change.”

    Amb. Maxson K. Kpakio said bringing the community together through football, we aim to open up conversations about drug abuse and encourage our youth to make positive choices.”

    He said The Restoration HOPE Foundation International plans to continue its advocacy against drug abuse by organizing additional events and awareness campaigns, through continued collaboration with local authorities and community stakeholders, the foundation aims to create a safer and healthier environment for all young people in Liberia.
