    LDEA Concludes Investigative Drugs-Related Crime Training in River Gee

    River Gee County – Tuesday, June 10, 2025 – The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) River Gee detachment, has successfully concluded a rigorous week-long training workshop aimed at enhancing the investigative and analytical skills of its officers in combating drug-related crimes.

    The training took place at the LDEA’s local office in Fish-Town, River Gee County and brought together about 36 participants including new recruits as well as experienced officers in the county.

    Led by the Chief Trainer and Head of the Crime Lab, the workshop covered advanced investigative techniques, forensic analysis, intelligence gathering, and collaboration strategies with other law enforcement agencies.

    The intensive training equipped the officers with the necessary expertise to effectively address the challenges associated with drug anti-drug trafficking and enforcement in the region.

    Special Agent Richard N. Nango, Commander of the LDEA River Gee detachment, expressed appreciation for the training; noting its importance in enhancing his team’s operational capacity in combating illegal drugs.

    At the closing ceremony, Assistant Commissioner of Police, River Gee detachment, Superintendent Theophilus T. Togba, praised the LDEA for the educational training and urged participants to apply their new knowledge to combat drug trafficking and usage in the county.

    The LDEA commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and promoting collaboration in the fight against drug-related crimes was truly evident throughout the training.

    Despite challenges such as limited resources and lack of operational vehicles hindering the agency’s operations, the LDEA remains dedicated to empowering its officers and strengthening community partnerships to create a safer environment for all residents.

    Follow-up sessions are planned to reinforce the training and evaluate its impact on local drug enforcement activities, highlighting the agency’s ongoing efforts to address the complex issue of drug-related crime in Liberia.
