    Police In Grand Kru Launch Metro Patrol Ahead of July 26 Celebrations

    Barclayville, Grand Kru County-Thursday, July 24, 2025-The Liberia National Police Grand Kru Detachment has launched metro patrol ahead of Liberia’s July 26, national Independence Day Celebration, a significant move towards enhancing public safety and security in the county.

    The launch event, at the Police headquarters in Barclayville was led by Commander Clement Barllat, who reaffirmed the LNP’s commitment to protecting citizens and maintaining law and order in Grand Kru County.

    According to him, this initiative marks a crucial step in ensuring the safety of citizens as the nation prepares to celebrate its 178th Independence Day which is designed to respond promptly to incidents and provide a reassuring presence.

    Speaking during the exercise, the Grand Kru Police Commander disclosed that the deployment of police officers will extent to key areas, including Barclayville, Buah Geeken, Trehn District, Sass-Town, Grandcess, Picnicess, and other surrounding communities in the county.

    He emphasized the importance of the metro patrol, stating that as the Country’s anticipant to celebrate its national Independence Day celebration, it is imperative that the Police take proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of all citizens. “As we approach our Independence Day celebrations, it is imperative that we take proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of all citizens. Our officers will be visible and actively patrolling areas where citizens gather to celebrate this significant occasion.”

    Barllat indicated that with a focus on crime prevention, the LNP Grand Kru Detachment aims to foster a sense of security among residents during the festive period, specifically to address potential disturbances and ensure public spaces as well as gatherings are peaceful, cordial and violent-free.

    Commander Barllat urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activities, highlighting the role of community involvement in maintaining peace. “We cannot do this alone.

    “The safety of our communities is a shared responsibility, and we encourage citizens to actively participate in ensuring that our Independence Day is a joyous and safe occasion for everyone,” he added.” Meanwhile, as Liberians gear up for the July 26 celebrations, the LNP’s Grand Kru Detachment metro patrol initiative is expected to play a vital role in mitigating potential security threats and enhancing public confidence in law enforcement.
