Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh –Saturday, July 26,2025-Grand Gedeh County Electoral district #1 representative in the 55th Legislature, Jeremiah Garwo Sokan has finally made his first legislative report to citizens of his district.

Hon. Sokan ascended to the House of Representatives in the November 16, 2023 bi-election upon the death of the district representative the late Rep. Erol Madison Gwion, Sr.

During his presentation, Representative Sokan outlined his achievements during the period under review.

He pointed at the road rehabilitation in Zwedru and its environs, financial aid for students at various high schools, colleges and universities across the country; a bill to reopen Putu Iron ore. Others mentioned were youth capacity building, electrification of Zwedru and its environs among many others.

He further indicated that there are plans on the way to lay asphalt on the streets in Zwedru City, electrification of other communities, and youth employment among others.

The lawmaker also called on citizens to hold together and stop taking the street with protest for every little disagreement.

He said the best way to resolve issues is by sitting together around a table to professionally handle such matters.

In conclusion the lawmaker appreciated everyone for their overwhelming support toward his legislative work.

In response, Superintendent Alex Chersia Grant pledged his unflinching support for the growth and development of the county.
