Grand Cape Mount, August 7, 2025–Authorities in Porkpa District, Grand Cape Mount County, have arrested an elderly man identified only as Dougbah for the rape of a 12-year-old girl in Gbarnga Town. The incident, which occurred on March 30, 2025, was reported to the Bamballah Police Station shortly after it happened.

According to police investigations, the young girl was selling peppers when Dougbah called her to his residence under the pretense of making a purchase. Upon arrival, she discovered his wife was not home. Dougbah allegedly dragged her into a room, forcibly removed her clothing, and raped her. The victim told investigators that he stuffed clothes into her mouth to prevent her from screaming.

Following the assault, the girl’s father, Mohamed Konneh, took her to the Bamballah Clinic for medical attention. The case was subsequently pursued by law enforcement, with support from CSD agent Mohamed Konneh.

Dougbah was apprehended on August 5, 2025. A medical examination confirmed the rape, and he has since been charged and detained pending trial.

Police Commander Angeline W. Gibson emphasized the department’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and safeguarding other vulnerable individuals in the community.
