Monrovia, Liberia –Friday, August 8, 2025 – In a pivotal move to address drug-related challenges in Liberia, Superintendent Mike Swengbeh of River Gee County has officially aligned himself with a national campaign dedicated to curbing the spread of illicit drugs nationwide.

Launched on August 7, 2025, the campaign aims to tackle the escalating issue of drug abuse and its harmful effects on communities, especially among young people.

Superintendent Swengbeh, recognized for his dedication to community improvement and public health, stressed the necessity of collaboration among various entities, including government bodies, local organizations, and community leaders.

He asserted that a united effort is crucial in effectively addressing the issues associated with drug trafficking and consumption.

In an interview with Verity Online News County Correspondent from the nation capital on August 7, 2025, Swengbeh underscored the importance of raising awareness and educating the public about the risks of drug use.

He advocated for the development of prevention programs that tackle the underlying causes of drug abuse and offer assistance to those affected by addiction.

The growing campaign seeks to enforce stricter laws against drug trafficking while also fostering rehabilitation initiatives for individuals battling substance abuse.

With a comprehensive approach, the initiative aims to foster safer and healthier communities throughout Liberia.

Superintendent Swengbeh’s participation in this initiative reflects his commitment to protecting the well-being of River Gee residents and securing a brighter future for the youth.

As Liberia faces this urgent social issue, his leadership and advocacy are expected to create a significant impact in the fight against illicit drugs.
