    LIS Grand Gedeh Detachment Records 48,000 Burkinabés In Three Months

    Zwedru City, Grand Gedeh County –Thursday, August 21, 2025-The Liberia Immigration Service (LIS) Grand Gedeh detachment has officially concluded the enrollment of Burkinabé nationals residing in the county.

    The closing ceremony, held in Zwedru, brought together members of the joint security, Burkinabé nationals, forest owners, and other stakeholders.

    Director of Operations at LIS, Chief Dennis B. Sartee who graced the closing event of Enrollment Exercise announced the next phase of the involving the issuance of Resident Permit at USD$150 per each.

    Speaking at the program, LIS Grand Gedeh Commander Alex Kpakolo disclosed that the enrollment exercise began on May 20, 2025, and ended on August 20, 2025, with a total of 48,000 Burkinabés registered.

    Commander Kpakolo further emphasized that with the conclusion of the process, the LIS will not permit any additional Burkinabé national to enter the county illegally.

    Meanwhile, the Director of Operations of the Liberia Immigration Service, Dennis B. Sartee, announced that the next phase of the process will involve the issuance of resident permits at the cost of USD 150 per individual.

    Mr. Sartee commended the LIS officers and local authorities of Grand Gedeh County for their cooperation and support in ensuring the success of the enrollment exercise.
