Monrovia, August 29, 2025 – CSquared, a leading wholesale infrastructure builder, recently met with the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) Board to provide an update on their services and plans for expansion in Liberia.

Established in Liberia in 2017, CSquared has made significant strides in providing high-speed, open-access broadband infrastructure to the country.

The meeting, in a statement from LTA issued Friday, August 29, 2025 highlighted CSquared Achievements in its 355km High-Speed Broadband Metro Backbone; an initiative supported through a grant from USAID in partnership with Google.

The broadband metro Backbone infrastructure connects over 51 government institutions, promoting digitalization and economic growth. The statement also highlighted 350km Corridor from Monrovia to Luogata, a corridor that provides high-speed, reliable networks to hospitals, schools, universities, homes, and offices, bridging the digital divide in Liberia.

According to the LTA statement, CSquared’s cross-border connection at Luogata ensures strategic redundancy, providing a backup connection in case the A.C.E. Cable falters. It focuses on the extension to Accra and Lagos, as plans are underway to extend infrastructure to Accra and then onto Lagos, Nigeria, further expanding reach and promoting regional connectivity.

CSquared currently facilitates Wi-Fi presence in Gbarnga, Ganta, Kakata, and Sanniquellie (Nimba University), serving over 1 million Liberians and reaching into rural areas.

The meeting marked the first official interaction between former LTA Commissioner Maria Harrison, now heading CSquared’s Board of Directors, with the new LTA Board. LTA Chairperson Clarence K. Massaquoi and Licensing and Regulations Commissioner Ben Fofana expressed their support for CSquared’s expansion plans, emphasizing the importance of digital transformation and economic development in Liberia.
