Ziggida Town, Sunday, September 7, 2025- Zeayeama Clan, Zorzor District – Tension is mounting in Ziggida following the mysterious disappearance of Elder Sackie, who has been missing for more than two weeks.

The uncertainty has thrown the community into chaos, with residents blocking the main road into the town with trees and large rocks, effectively cutting off movement in and out of Ziggida.

On Saturday, locals detained two townsmen, Zazay-Boi Kpadeh and Noowo-ku, accusing them of knowing Sackie’s whereabouts. Both suspects, however, denied involvement, saying Sackie vanished during a trip to Guinea.

According to Zazay-Boi, he, Noowo-ku, and Sackie traveled to Eyeazu, Guinea, on August 25, 2025, to perform a traditional ritual for Ziggida. He explained that on their return, Sackie, who appeared intoxicated, fell behind on the road. After waiting and later looking back, they could no longer see him. Believing Sackie had turned back to rest in Eyeazu, they continued home. Zazay-Boi claimed he has since searched tirelessly but without success.

The account has done little to calm the anger of Ziggida’s youth, who arrested the suspects and demanded their presence in town until Sackie is found. When Liberian National Police officers attempted to transfer the suspects to Zorzor for questioning, residents resisted, insisting the men remain in Ziggida to aid the search.

As of now, the town remains barricaded, with residents tightening blockades and vowing not to reopen access until Sackie’s disappearance is resolved. Local authorities have pledged a full investigation, but anxiety and suspicion continue to grip the community.
