Vienna, Austria-September 17,2025- Liberia has signed a five-year Country Programme Framework (CPF) with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, Austria.
This partnership will provide significant support in agriculture, health, energy, water, and environmental protection — all aligned with the country’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development.
Key priorities include: Improving food and livestock production using modern nuclear techniques; establishing a radiotherapy center for cancer treatment and improving nutrition, strengthening energy planning and safety standards; Enhancing water management and environmental protection.
Liberia’s Agriculture Minister Dr. Alexander Nuetah signed on behalf of Liberia, while IAEA Deputy Director General Hua Liu signed for the leading Atomic watchdog body. The latest agreement will officially commence 2026 and last up to 2030.
Meanwhile it is important to mention that Liberia has been a proud member of the IAEA since 1962. With this new CPF ”We’re increasing efforts to utilize science and technology for a healthier, safer, and more food-secure future”.
