Gbamzuluma Town, Salayea District |April 13, 2026 |Women of the Gbanway Town Salayea Administrative District Village Savings and Loan Association in Lofa County have welcomed a major financial pledge from Senator Mono T. Cyrus aimed at strengthening their economic activities and improving livelihoods.

The group described the senator’s commitment of 300,000 Liberian dollars as a significant step toward empowering women in the community. According to them, the support will enhance their savings and loan operations, enabling members to expand small businesses and better support their families.

Members of the association noted that the intervention comes at a crucial time when access to financial resources remains a major challenge for many rural women. They expressed optimism that the funds will create new opportunities and improve their overall standard of living.

The women also acknowledged the senator’s assurance that the amount will be delivered within 15 days, describing it as a demonstration of his continued commitment to grassroots development.

Additionally, the group welcomed the senator’s promise of a further 200,000 Liberian dollars, contingent on the effective and transparent use of the initial funds. They pledged to manage the resources responsibly and ensure that the intended impact is achieved.

Speaking on behalf of the association, members expressed gratitude for what they termed as ongoing support from Senator Cyrus, emphasizing that his leadership is already making a difference in their lives.

The women remain confident that the initiative will not only strengthen their financial base but also serve as a pathway to greater independence and community development.
