Gbarpolu County health and education authorities have received huge supplies of medical and educational materials valued over US$1.1 million. The donation was made by Gbarpolu County Senator Amara Konneh on January 25, 2025 in Bopolu City, Gbarpolu County.

The donations include but not limited to the following items: examination gloves, ultrasound machines (for obstetrics, gynecology, and general surgery diagnoses), manual and electronic wheelchairs for patients, examination beds for patient screenings, patient medication trays, neonatal strollers for obstetrics in the clinics. Others are: digital monitors for patient monitoring, disposable syringes, surgical gowns and scrubs for surgeons, textbooks, chairs, stationery, among others.

The donation, Amara Konneh explained, is his own way of saying thanks to the people of the county for electing him and other caucus members to represent them at the legislature.

Senator Konneh disclosed that the medical supplies, including the educational materials, were brought from the United States through his partners and friends.

The Gbarpolu County Senator, in an exclusive interview, acknowledged the efforts of his colleagues in the county and committed the caucus’ readiness to work together to boost the health and education sectors of the county.

Receiving the items, Gbarpolu County Superintendent Sam Zinnah thanked Senator Amara Konneh and his colleagues for returning to appreciate them in such a manner he described as overwhelming.

Superintendent Zinnah described the donations, particularly the medical supplies as a dream come true for the people of Gbarpolu County, and at the same time urged education and health authorities to use the donated items for their intended purpose.

In remarks, Gbarpolu County Education Officer Charles Dennis Sr. expressed happiness for the educational materials and promised to use them for the intended purpose.
