River Gee County | April 10, 2026 | President Joseph Nyuma Boakai has appointed River Gee County Sen. Francis Saidy Dopoh II as the Senate Representative on the Board of Trustees of the William V. S. Tubman University.
The appointment, announced late Thursday, April 9, 2026, underscores the administration’s commitment to strengthening governance and policy direction within Liberia’s higher education sector, particularly in the southeastern region.
Senator Dopoh’s new role places him in a key leadership position where he will contribute to policy formulation, institutional oversight, and strategic planning at the university.
His inclusion on the Board is expected to enhance collaboration between the legislative branch and the institution, ensuring that the university’s programs and initiatives remain aligned with Liberia’s national development agenda.
Senator Dopoh currently serves as Chair of the Senate Committee on Posts and Telecommunications and plays active roles in several other areas, including international parliamentary engagement and social development initiatives.
The River Gee County Senator Dopoh holds a Master’s degree in Policy Economics from the Harvard Kennedy School, reflecting his strong commitment to informed leadership and public service excellence.
In a related development, Toweah Geegbeh has been appointed as Deputy Marshal of the 15th Judicial Circuit Court in River Gee County.
In this capacity, Geegbeh will be responsible for maintaining order during court proceedings, supporting the enforcement of judicial mandates, and ensuring the effective operation of the court system within the county.
