Wakesu Town, Zorzor District – November 9, 2025–In a significant boost to public health and community well-being, the James Papy Kwabo (JPK) Foundation has restored safe drinking water access to Wakesu Town by repairing several damaged hand pumps that had forced residents to rely on unsafe creek water for months.

The intervention has been hailed by community members as “a major relief and a life-changing development,” especially for women and children who often walked long distances to fetch water.

Founded in January 2025 and headquartered in Zorzor, the JPK Foundation is a youth-centered, community-focused organization dedicated to empowering young people, improving healthcare, and supporting sustainable community growth and development. The restoration of the hand pumps aligns directly with the Foundation’s mission of driving grassroots development across Lofa County.

A representative of the Foundation said the initiative reflects the vision of its founder, James Papy Kwabo, whose life story emphasizes perseverance, humility, and community services.

Residents of Wakesu are now calling the repaired pumps a “blessing” and expressing appreciation to the Foundation for stepping in at a time when the community urgently needed support.

The JPK Foundation says it will continue to identify and respond to community needs across Lofa, focusing on development efforts that make a visible and lasting impact.
