Bilibo, Grand Gedeh County| April 30, 2026 | A suspected act of negligence triggered a devastating gas explosion early Sunday morning, reducing a four-bedroom house to ashes and leaving three people seriously injured.
The incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. on April 26, when a man identified as Kollie was reportedly measuring fuel near a woman who was cooking over an open flame.
The proximity of the flammable substance to the fire is believed to have caused the explosion, which quickly engulfed the building.
Three victims were rushed to Bilibo Clinic for medical treatment. As of press time, no fatalities have been reported.
Local community leaders have expressed strong concern over the incident, citing a disregard for basic safety measures.
The explosion has left a family homeless and others in critical condition, raising fresh calls for improved public awareness on fire and fuel safety.
