Barclayville City, Grand Kru County | January 24, 2026| The Ministry of Education has concluded an awareness campaign in Grand Kru County on its Digital Learning Platform initiative, Liberia Learns by Digital Radio and Television Program, aimed at expanding access to quality education, particularly for students in hard-to-reach communities.
The campaign brought together key education stakeholders, including school principals and Parents-Teachers Associations (PTAs), to deepen understanding of the program and its benefits.
Speaking during the exercise, Dr. Salomey Tardy Hackman, Lead on Strategy and Impact at the Ministry of Education, said the initiative is part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to strengthen the education sector nationwide.
“The Liberia Learns Digital Radio and Television Program is a national initiative designed to improve learning outcomes and ensure that every child, including those in remote areas, has access to quality education,” Dr. Hackman said.
She emphasized that the program is led by the Ministry of Education under the leadership of Education Minister Dr. Jarso Marley Jallah and is supported by the Public Sector Investment Program.
According to Dr. Hackman, the initiative uses interactive lessons delivered through radio, television, and digital devices to improve literacy and numeracy skills.
“Through radio, television, and digital platforms, children are able to learn pronunciation, communication, and comprehension using smartphones and other learning tools,” she explained.
Dr. Hackman added that the multi-platform approach will help students build confidence and grow into future educators.
Meanwhile, Blohkwon S. Toe, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Education’s local office, welcomed the program.
“This digital learning platform will improve the efficiency of teaching and learning in schools across Grand Kru County,” Toe noted.
Also commenting, Johnny Toe Jr., Principal of Barclayville Central High School, described the program as practical and effective.
“The digital platform is easy to use and will support teachers while helping students better understand their lessons,” he said.
