The meeting took place on January 24, 2026, in Zorzor City, Lofa County, and was chaired by the President of the Council, G. Henry L. Flomo. A total of 23 youth leaders, representing various towns, sections, and clans within Zorzor District, attended the meeting.

During the gathering, participants introduced themselves and shared concerns facing young people in their respective communities, including education, empowerment, and development-related challenges.

Addressing the meeting, President Flomo highlighted key achievements recorded by the Youth Council since its establishment.

He disclosed that the Council has received two motorbikes, donated by Manda Youngor B. Cole and Hon. Thomas P. Fallah, aimed at improving the Council’s movement and coordination across the district.

President Flomo also announced a 90,000 Liberian Dollars scholarship opportunity for youth in Zorzor District, made available through Mr. James Papy Kwabo. He explained that the scholarship will be implemented in three phases, with the first phase providing 30,000 LD for the 2026–2027 academic year, while the remaining phases will be rolled out at the conclusion of the initial phase.

The meeting further benefited from a 9,000 Liberian Dollars cash donation from Hon. Jesse Korboi, a son of Zorzor District, to support the general youth meeting.

Responding to the gesture, President Flomo expressed appreciation on behalf of the youth leadership and participants, acknowledging Hon. Korboi’s continuous support to youth activities in the district. He referenced Hon. Korboi’s previous contribution of 30,000 LD during the Lofa County Electoral District League.

Concluding the meeting, President Flomo reaffirmed the Youth Council’s commitment to working with Hon. Korboi, other stakeholders, and development partners to promote youth empowerment and sustainable development across Zorzor District.

The meeting marked an important step for the Zorzor District Youth Council as it begins coordinated efforts to address youth concerns and strengthen unity among young people in the district.
