Barkedu Town, Lofa County |Feb. 16, 2026| Two Muslim Communities located in the Quardu Gboni district received 1,000 bags of cement to support infrastructure enhancement in both Barkedu and Tusu towns.
On February 15, 2026, a total of 1,000 bags of cement was presented Quardu Gboni District for onward presentation to both Barkedu and Tusu respectively for the sole purpose of upgrading their respective mosques.
Accordingly, 600 bags goes to Barkedu Central mosque while 400 bags is for Tusu town mosque for renovation purposes
The cement and other materials are to be used to elevate and improve mosques in both towns, with additional bags of cement and construction materials expected soon.
Making the presentation to the two towns, local chiefs, imams, youth leaders, and other community stakeholders, CMC National Chairman, James Yougee said this was the CMC own way of contributing to national development.
He also promised that similar donations will be made in other parts of Lofa and the country in the near future; adding that CMC as an organization, is passionate about holistic national development across the length and breadth of Liberia.
“This is just the first donation, and in coming days, we are donating a total of 4000 bags of cement for the rehabilitation of all mosques across Lofa County,” CMC chairman Yougee indicated.
Chairman Yougee spoke on behalf of the Hon. Musa Hassan Bility, the CMC Political leader.
Meanwhile, Islamic leaders and Muslims in the two towns and the district in general thank the donor and the CMC for the timely gesture especially coming on the heels of the commencement of Ramadan; the Muslim Holy month of fasting, expected to begin this Wednesday/Thursday of this week.
