Monaco |March 16, 2026 | On March 12, 2026, following a series of meetings in previous days with key officials and representatives of Monaco’s business and private sector, H.E. Ambassador Dr. Teeko Tozay Yorlay continued his strategic engagements with a meeting with the Director of Economic Development at Monaco’s Department of Finance and Economy (Ministry of Finance and Economy), Mr. Stéphane Bruno, to discuss opportunities for strengthening economic cooperation between Liberia and Monaco.
During the meeting, Ambassador Yorlay expressed appreciation for the opportunity to engage with Monaco on strategies aimed at deepening bilateral economic and development partnerships.
He noted that Liberia places a high value on collaboration with partners capable of contributing expertise and innovative financing solutions in support of the country’s national development priorities; particularly the ARREST Agenda for inclusive Development.
Furthermore, Ambassador Yorlay highlighted Liberia’s commitment to inclusive economic growth and sustainable development under the Government’s ARREST Agenda for Inclusive Development (AAID), outlining key priority sectors including agriculture, technology, road infrastructure development, education, health and sanitation, and tourism.
Discussions also focused on Liberia’s critical infrastructure and development priorities, particularly the expansion of electricity access and the improvement of road connectivity.
Ambassador Yorlay underscored Liberia’s interest in building meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships to help address binding constraints to economic growth in Liberia, while unlocking new investment opportunities.
He emphasized that Liberia welcomes Monegasque investment across all sectors of the economy, including the priority areas identified under the AAID.
He further encouraged Monegasque institutions, both public and private, to explore areas where their expertise in sustainable finance, economic planning, and investment promotion could support mutually beneficial cooperation.
Additionally, Ambassador Yorlay informed Mr. Bruno of a decision taken during a previous meeting to dedicate the 2026 edition of Monaco Africa Day to Liberia.
Mr. Bruno welcomed Ambassador Yorlay’s remarks and expressed support for dedicating Monaco Africa Day 2026 to Liberia, noting that the initiative would provide an excellent platform to showcase the country’s economic and investment opportunities to key stakeholders from Monaco’s public and private sectors.
Mr. Bruno further informed the Ambassador that he is soon to assume a new position as Chief Executive Officer for Business and Investment, a role that will allow him to engage more directly with Monegasque business activities and facilitate connections between the Embassy and relevant institutions of interest.
The meeting, which marked Ambassador Yorlay’s last engagement in Monaco, concluded with Ambassador Yorlay and Mr. Bruno reaffirming their commitment to working together to explore opportunities for cooperation and partnerships that would deliver shared and mutually beneficial outcomes for both Monaco and Liberia.
