Salayea, Lofa County | April 29, 2026 | Students and teachers of Salayea Central High School are experiencing renewed motivation in the classroom following the donation of six white marker boards and complete accessories by Madam Youngor Barco Cole, a gesture that is already transforming teaching and learning at the institution.
The donation, valued at USD $544, included markers, eraser liquid, and board cleaners—materials that students say are making lessons clearer, more interactive, and easier to understand. For many learners, the new boards represent more than just equipment; they symbolize a better learning environment and a chance to improve academic performance and ultimately learning outcomes.
“This is not just about the boards; it is about how our lessons will now be easier to follow,” said the Students Council Government President. “We now have everything we need to learn better, and that gives us confidence.”

Teachers at the school also expressed relief, noting that the previous lack of functional boards had made lesson delivery difficult. With the new materials in place, educators say they can now present their lessons more effectively, helping students grasp concepts with greater ease.
School authorities described the donation as both timely and impactful. According to the administration, the school had long struggled with worn-out and damaged boards, which affected the quality of instruction. The arrival of complete marker board sets has significantly improved classroom conditions.
Students, visibly excited, said the new tools are already changing how classes are conducted. They believe the improved classroom setup will encourage participation and make learning more engaging.
The presentation ceremony, held on campus, brought together school administrators, teachers, student leaders, and the wider student body, all united in appreciation for the support.
While Madam Youngor Barco Cole is recognized for her ongoing contributions to education and community development, it is the students and teachers of Salayea Central High School who now stand to gain the most—benefiting directly from an intervention that strengthens both teaching and learning in their classrooms.
