Zwedru, Grand Gedeh County |April 30, 2026| Serious security concerns have emerged in Grand Gedeh County after the Acting Chairperson of the County Council, Atilas A. Kai, reported what he describes as a troubling and unauthorized intrusion at his office.
In a formal statement released Tuesday evening, Mr. Kai disclosed that at approximately 6:30 PM, a group of unidentified men forcefully appeared at his office situated within the YMCA compound in Zwedru.
The individuals allegedly arrived in an official vehicle assigned to County Superintendent Alex Grant, raising immediate suspicion about the nature of their operation.
According to Mr. Kai, the men entered the premises without clearance or prior notification. Once inside, they reportedly began taking photographs and recording videos for reasons that remain unclear, motive unknown and intensifying fears over possible hidden motives.
In a further alarming claim, Mr. Kai stated that an image captured from a distance appears to show Superintendent Grant at the scene, allegedly overseeing the activity. However, this assertion is yet to be independently confirmed.
Labeling the incident as “highly concerning,” Mr. Kai is demanding an urgent and thorough investigation, warning that the actions observed could signal a deeper and more troubling agenda.

Up to now, Superintendent Alex Grant and the Grand Gedeh County administration have remained silent, offering no official response to the allegations.
Authorities have yet to identify the individuals involved or explain the purpose behind their presence, leaving the public with more questions than answers.
The incident is already fueling tensions within local leadership, as calls for accountability and transparency grow louder across the county.
As this is a developing story,we will keep updating as we endeavour to engage the office of the Superintendent for a formal response of his alleged involvement in the current breakin the YMCA premises.
